The latest episode of The Flash teased the presence of a second Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), but there’s a good chance this character is actually the villainous Reverse-Flash. Reverse-Flash is a recurring Arrowverse antagonist who was last seen in The Flash season 5 finale. He manipulated Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) into helping him escape from prison.

At the end of The Flash season 6, episode 11, titled “Love is a Battlefield”, Nash Wells was at Jitters when he saw what appeared to be a vision of another Harrison Wells. After a brief glimpse at the character, he abruptly disappeared, as if Nash was only hallucinating. The identity of this character was never revealed, though his glasses and hair did make him resemble the Earth-2 Harrison Wells, “Harry”, who was supposedly killed off-screen along with his daughter, Jesse Quick (Violett Beane), in the Arrow season 8 premiere when Earth-2 was destroyed by an anti-matter wave.

Regardless of whether it was Harry or a different Wells, the cliffhanger ending certainly suggests that Nash isn’t in fact the Arrowverse’s last Harrison Wells. However, it could be that the Harrison Wells twist will be followed up by yet another shocking twist. What if the person Nash saw was actually the Reverse-Flash? Bringing the Reverse-Flash back would be relatively easy to do, in more ways than one. First of all, Tom Cavanagh played Reverse-Flash in season 5, so the actor is already available and on the show as Nash Wells.

Reverse-Flash’s return would work story-wise as well, since he’s now free to do as he pleases. Reverse-Flash skipped “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, but he really could come back at any time for another showdown with his greatest enemy, and perhaps offer an explanation as to why he wasn’t around, despite all the setup for Reverse-Flash’s inclusion in “Crisis”.

Also, the character spotted by Nash being Reverse-Flash makes perfect sense, when taking into consideration his sudden disappearance. Eobard Thawne could have used his super speed to just make it look like he vanished. But, if this is Reverse-Flash, why does he look like Harry or his original Harrison Wells disguise? In The Flash season 5, Eobard Thawne was shown to have ditched the glasses. It’s possible that this is all part of another one of Reverse-Flash’s evil schemes. He may try to manipulate Nash and other members of Team Flash into believing that he’s Harry. If he can succeed into tricking them into thinking that Harry survived the Crisis, he could be welcomed as an ally. Reverse-Flash is a master at deception, so this does seem like the kind of nefarious plot a person like him would put into motion, and the only motivation he would need for such a deception is his hatred of Barry Allen, which fans already know he has in abundance.
