It looks as if the recently-teased Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn) crossover event with Fortnite is here, and it brings along new challenges as well as skins associated with the film. Fortnite is quite accustomed to embracing whatever big movie release is currently in theaters, with a number of crossovers occurring in the battle royale’s recent history, including one which revealed plot information for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker exclusively inside the game.

Epic Games has been teasing a Birds of Prey x Fortnite crossover lately, one which is just the latest in their long history of promoting comic book movie tie-in events. Fortnite seems to play no favorites among comic book brands between Marvel and DC, as they also sported a larger crossover event for Avengers: Endgame’s release back in 2019. Now, Fortnite looks to Harley Quinn.

The Fortnite x Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn) crossover has gone live today, as evident by a blog post on Epic Games’ official website. Included in the limited-timed event is a Harley Quinn Outfit, as well as Harley Hitter and Punchline Pickaxes. Players looking to get a more exclusive skin can opt for completing an extra set of challenges, which will reward them a costume that “transforms her from Lil Monster XoXo Harley to Always Fantabulous Harley”. Interested players can check out the Harley Quinn reveal trailer, which was recently posted to Fortnite’s YouTube channel and is embedded below:

For anyone who wants to unlock the secondary Always Fantabulous Harley Fortnite skin, they will have to complete a pretty obscure set of challenges before the crossover event ends on February 17th. First, the player will have to place in the top 30 in Solo, Duos, or Squad matches, then in the top 20, then in the top 10. Additionally, they will have to focus on hitting their opponent’s weak points, although the official Fortnite blog didn’t give any information as to how much weak point damage must dealt. Finally, they will have to deal a certain amount of damage using pickaxes, but once again the official report does not state exactly how much.

Fans who are excited to have Harley Quinn as an optional skin in Fortnite will likely blow through these challenges quickly, although it can sometimes be difficult for newer players to amass large amounts of pickaxe damage. This is an interestingly small crossover event compared to some of the other massive ones in Fortnite’s past, but it still points to the game trying to stay as culturally relevant as is possibly can. Considering Fortnite is still one of the most popular games in the entire world this long after its 2017 release, it seems to be working.
